Our Story
The move movement was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a body of work that celebrates the beauty of human movement in all its forms. What began as a dream to produce a coffee-table book of photographs has grown into a storytelling platform and creative partner for brands, nonprofits, and institutions worldwide.
Our founder, Denise, experienced firsthand how the fitness and wellness industries often overlooked everyday people and underrepresented voices. The move movement was built to fill that gap by capturing authentic stories of movement that resonate with real audiences.

About Our Founder
From sidelined athlete to movement storyteller.
Throughout her life, Denise Militzer has always been in motion, climbing trees as a child, playing competitive soccer, training in capoeira, and pushing through triathlons and open-water swims. Movement has always been her anchor.
But it wasn’t always inclusive. Too often, Denise experienced what it felt like to be sidelined, excluded, and underestimated simply for being a girl. As she grew and travelled across four continents, she noticed the same story repeating: barriers, stereotypes, and narrow definitions of who “belongs” in sport, fitness, and movement culture.
As a professional photographer, Denise stepped behind the lens and found the same limitations in the industry: glossy campaigns that ignored the real, diverse, and inspiring ways people move.
So she began the move movement, a storytelling platform and content agency created to capture and share authentic stories of movement. From adaptive athletes to everyday people, Denise’s work challenges stereotypes, celebrates resilience, and redefines what active living looks like.
For Denise, the move movement is more than a content agency. It’s a movement of its own: one that ensures everyone can see themselves represented, and every brand has the opportunity to tell stories that truly move people.
