Patrick moves for family

When I was 5 years old I was seriously injured in a car accident. I wasn’t supposed to walk again. Running and exercising is a testament to my resilience.
— Patrick, 39

For Patrick, physical activity is simple — it keeps his body healthy and mobile. “I really want to be healthy in my later years and to not have injuries,” he says.

He started training for sports as a kid, drawn to track and field. Over time, movement became more than training — it became a way of life. “Running sets my mind free,” Patrick explains. “It’s the combination of appreciating nature and tuning into your body’s physical limits.”

His motivation comes from the people around him. “My kids and family inspire me,” he says. “I also see aging grandparents who have serious physical ailments.” Watching their challenges pushes him to keep moving — for health, longevity, and strength.

Patrick’s resilience runs deep. “When I was 5 years old I was seriously injured in a car accident,” he recalls. “I wasn’t supposed to walk again. Running and exercising is a testament to my resilience. I hope that’s inspiring to others.”

Even today, consistency is key. His training partners at work motivate him “to never miss a workout.” And when setbacks arise — whether it’s bad weather or trying to stay healthy during flu season — he finds a way to keep going.

Patrick’s story is proof that movement can be both grounding and freeing. For him, it’s not about competition — it’s about gratitude, health, and connection.

Patrick moves for health. For family. For freedom.
